Year 4, 2007April ![]() While getting tires for my fiancé I found a deal on 285/40s for the rear. Definitely made a marked improvement in the rubber dept. Didn't get to drive it, because, well, the k is still broken (rear driver's mount rotted out) August
Well, after another 4 months (racing the
Diplomat, having that being a distraction) I
sold it in July and had some spare time. Well, finally started on the 300.
Now why did the engine have to come out? Well,
the trans is toast. And my buddy Frank had one laying around that we
pulled together the previous winter (out of one of my old trucks, funny isn't
it?). Also, the freeze plug next to the starter developed a pin-hole leak.
Note to self, next motor build, replace the freeze plugs! Oh yeah, and the
carb bowl cracked over the winter, and hey, lets chop off the crappy exhaust,
too! BTW: this was so easy it isn't funny. Will do more engine
pulls/installs this way in the future!
